Perforated Metal Spinning Lamp / 孔開き金属によるへら絞りのランプ - 光と影の模様 -
へら絞り加工を用いた孔開き金属のランプを制作した。へら絞りとは、一枚の金属板を特殊な機械とへらを用いて金属板を立体的な造形へと変化させる加工技術である。通常は金属板を用いるが、職人の高度な技術によって、孔開き金属板にへら絞り加工を施す。へら絞り加工によって、孔開き金属が引き延ばされ、規則的な孔開きパターンが変化することで、独自の模様をつくる。さらに、独自の模様から漏れ出す光は、光と影の美しい模様をつくりだす。孔開き金属によるへら絞りのランプが、様々な空間に華を添える先進的なデザインとなることを信じている。
We created a lamp using metal spinning. Metal spinning is a processing technique that uses a special machine to transform a sheet of metal into a three-dimensional shape. Normally, metal plates are used, but the highly skilled craftsmen add a spinning process to perforated metal plates. The spinning process stretches the perforated metal, changing the regular perforation pattern to create special patterns. Furthermore, the light that leaks out from the special pattern creates beautiful patterns of light and shadow. We believe that Perforated Metal Spinning Lamp will be an advanced design that will add elegance to a variety of spaces.
Metal Spinning / へら絞り加工
へら絞りとは、一枚の金属板を特殊な機械とへらを用いて金属板を立体的な造形へと変化させる加工技術である。1/100ｍｍの精度を必要とされる航空部品やロケット部品等の精密な機器に使われている。このへら絞り加工の技術を応用し、我々の身近にある照明器具のデザインに落とし込んでいく。

It is used in precision equipment such as aircraft parts and rocket parts that require an accuracy of 1/100 mm. We applied this metal Spinning technology to the design of lighting fixtures that are familiar to us.
Perforated Metal Spinning / 孔開き金属によるへら絞り加工
孔開き金属によるへら絞り加工は、非常に高度な技術を要する。通常のへら絞りと異なり、数十の工程によって孔開き金属が引き延ばされ、規則的な孔開きパターンが変化し、独自の模様をつくりだす。
The spinning process using perforated metal requires highly advanced techniques. Unlike regular metal, the perforated metal is stretched through a number of processes, which changes the regular perforation pattern and creates special patterns.
Perforated Metal Spinning Lamp / 孔開き金属によるへら絞りのランプ
孔開き金属によるへら絞りのランプは、様々な孔開き金属にへら絞り加工を施すことで、それぞれに独自の模様をつくりだす。へら絞り加工で孔開き金属板を曲げる角度によって、模様が変化する。浅く曲げれば、孔の変化は少なく、深く曲げれば、孔は大きく変化する。既成の孔開き金属(パンチングメタル)やオリジナルで作成した孔開き金属等をへら絞り加工で変化させることで、多様な模様をつくりだせ、デザインの幅は無限大である。
Perforated Metal Spinning Lamp is made by using the spinning process on a variety of perforated metals to create unique patterns. The pattern changes depending on the angle at which the perforated metal plate is bent using the spinning process. If you bend it shallowly, the change in the hole will be small, and if you bend it deeply, the change in the hole will be large. By transforming existing perforated metal or original perforated metal through the spinning process, a variety of patterns can be created and the possibilities of this design are endless.

3 Dimensional Special Pattern / 立体的な独自の模様
へら絞り加工により、孔開き金属板が、半球に変化することで、立体的な独自の模様をつくりだす。またドーム状に模様が変化していくので、見る角度によって異なる模様が浮び上がる。
The spinning process transforms the perforated metal plate into a hemisphere, creating a 3 dimensional special pattern. The pattern changes around the dome, so different patterns emerge depending on the viewing angle.

Patterns of Light and Shadow / 光と影の模様
独自の模様から漏れ出す光は、光と影の美しい模様をつくりだす。周辺の床・壁・天井にそれぞれの模様を映し出す。また、孔開きの透過率を調整し、光源の光が強くならないようにデザインすることで、光と影の模様が美しく浮び上がる。
The light that leaks out from the special pattern creates beautiful patterns of light and shadow. Each pattern is projected onto the surrounding floor, walls, and ceiling. In addition, by adjusting the transmittance of the holes and designing it so that the light from the light source is not too strong, the patterns of light and shadow emerge beautifully.
